Harris Tweed Cushions

Sue, together with her friends Anne and Nora, all from Leicestershire, have made some very special Woolsack cushions from Harris Tweed fabric, and to celebrate the heritage and importance of Harris Tweed they have chosen to show the Harris Tweed stamped logo on the outside of the cushions as a feature of the design.

In one day, and aided by lots of tea and cake and a lunch of soup and ham sandwiches, the three of them managed to make 13 beautiful cushions in 7 hours.  The cushions are all made entirely from Harris Tweed, itself spun and woven from the fleece of Scottish sheep on and around Lewis.  They all have 9-patch fronts, three have plain backs, two have stripey backs and the rest have 9-patch backs.

Sue will be taking them to the 'Stuff your Cushion' event at Edwinstowe on Sunday 11 March to stuff and finish them, so if you're going to that event you'll get the chance to see them and perhaps even meet Sue.
